Our Vision for Success
Success means:

Equity in Action: A small community theatre has the same access to quality materials as a large-scale production.

Environmental Impact: Production materials are re-used by successive groups, eliminating or significantly reducing our community's waste stream.

Artistic Growth: Our community can spend less on "stuff" and more on people, allowing everyone to fully realize their artistic visions.
We envision a San Diego Creative Community where "production waste" is a thing of the past.
San Diego County theatres, theatre departments from middle and high schools, community colleges, and universities.
22 San Diego theatres (and counting) are supported by our exchange.
Our Impact
How has SDSRA been reducing environmental impact? For every exchange, we connect creatives to reusable high-quality material which would have been thrown in the landfill.
This simple metric tells a powerful story:
Every $1 of reused materials prevents 1 kg of CO₂ from entering the environment — a benchmark established by a 2016–17 study of Barnard College's theatre productions. To put that in perspective, it would take 100 trees an entire year to absorb 2,000 kg of CO₂. At a recent swap meet, the Old Globe shared $20,000 in acrylic sheet (plexiglass) with a local high school, preventing an estimated 20,000 Kg of CO₂ from being being wasted.
